Everything you need to know about our 29 inch inner tubes

29 inch inner tubes are designed for wheels built to the ISO / ETRTO 622 mm standard (bead seat diameter). Originally associated mainly with mountain bikes, this wheel size is now widely used across many disciplines: cross-country, trail and enduro MTB, e-MTB, trekking and touring bikes, wide-tyre gravel bikes, as well as certain utility and cargo bikes compatible with 622 rims.
Our range of 29 inch inner tubes covers an exceptionally broad spectrum of tyre widths, from slim profiles to high-volume tyres, with ETRTO compatibility from 35-622 up to 100-622.

Quick guide: choose according to your riding style (and tyre width)

To avoid mistakes, always start by checking the tyre size printed on the sidewall (in inches or ETRTO). Then identify your typical use:

• Urban riding, trekking, fast touring, rapid gravel (narrow to mid-width tyres)

You’ll usually be running tyres between 29x1.35 and 29x1.75, roughly 35-622 to 47-622. The goal here is a well-fitting inner tube that holds pressure reliably and reduces the risk of pinch flats during installation.

• XC MTB / sporty touring (versatile widths)

Commonly found in 29x1.90 to 29x2.25, around 48-622 to 58-622. This is the core MTB setup, offering an excellent balance of efficiency, comfort and grip.

• Trail, enduro, e-MTB and demanding rides (wide tyres)

These setups often use larger volumes, typically 29x2.30 to 29x2.60 (approximately 55-622 to 68-622). A correctly sized inner tube helps absorb impacts and manage pressure variations—especially important given the extra weight and torque of electric mountain bikes.

• 29+ / 29er fat configurations (very wide tyres)

For maximum comfort, sand, snow or soft-terrain bikepacking, some builds go up to 29x2.80, 29x3.00, 29x3.25 or even 29x4.00 (ETRTO up to 100-622). At these volumes, the inner tube must be properly matched to avoid excessive stretching.

Technical compatibility: inches and ETRTO (XX-622)

In inches, this collection includes:
29x1.35 ; 29x1.40 ; 29x1.50 ; 29x1.60 ; 29x1.70 ; 29x1.75 ; 29x1.90 ; 29x1.95 ; 29x2.00 ; 29x2.10 ; 29x2.125 ; 29x2.15 ; 29x2.20 ; 29x2.25 ; 29x2.30 ; 29x2.35 ; 29x2.40 ; 29x2.50 ; 29x2.60 ; 29x2.80 ; 29x3.00 ; 29x3.25 ; 29x4.00

In ETRTO, remember the logic:
XX-622 = tyre width (XX in mm) + 622 mm bead seat diameter

This page covers the following widths:
35-622 ; 38-622 ; 40-622 ; 44-622 ; 45-622 ; 47-622 ; 48-622 ; 50-622 ; 52-622 ; 53-622 ; 54-622 ; 55-622 ; 56-622 ; 57-622 ; 58-622 ; 60-622 ; 61-622 ; 62-622 ; 63-622 ; 64-622 ; 65-622 ; 66-622 ; 68-622 ; 70-622 ; 71-622 ; 75-622 ; 76-622 ; 82-622 ; 100-622

Practical tip: inner tubes are elastic. If your tyre size falls within the stated range on the tube (e.g. 29x1.90–2.35), it will be suitable—as long as you stay within those limits.

Valves: the detail that prevents most mistakes

Before ordering, always check which valve type your rim accepts:

  • Presta valve: very common on performance MTB and gravel bikes.
  • Schrader valve: often found on leisure MTBs, urban e-bikes, and some utility or cargo bikes.

Installation and maintenance tips (to reduce punctures)

  • Inspect the inside of the tyre for debris (thorn, flint, staple) before refitting.
  • Apply a light dusting of talc (optional) to reduce friction.
  • Slightly inflate the inner tube before installation to avoid pinching.
  • Ensure the tube isn’t trapped under the tyre bead before final inflation.
  • Follow the pressure range stated on the tyre sidewall: too low increases pinch-flat risk, too high reduces comfort and raises impact damage risk.
