Step 1: Deflate your tyre
⚠️ Never remove a valve core under pressure.
Deflate your tyre completely by pressing down on the centre pin of the valve using a thin object to release any remaining air.

Step 2: Insert the valve core remover into the valve
Look inside the Schrader valve: you’ll see a small brass pin with two flat notches. That’s the valve core.
Insert the slotted end of the valve core remover into those notches.

Step 3: Unscrew the valve core
Turn anti-clockwise to unscrew it.
You’ll feel slight resistance at first, then the valve core should come loose easily.

🔄 To re-install it:
Place the valve core back into the valve and screw it in using the valve core remover. Don’t overtighten, a firm but gentle fit ensures an airtight seal.

How to Remove a Schrader Valve Core Without Tools
Yes, it’s possible! All you need is a small item with two notches or prongs to grip the valve core inside the valve and turn it carefully.
Here are a few everyday items that can do the job:
- A pair of tweezers
- An old fork
- A large paperclip bent into a U-shape

Why Remove a Schrader Valve Core?
- Increase airflow when inflating a tubeless tyre, helping the tyre bead to seat properly against the rim.
- Fix a slow puncture caused by a faulty valve core, without having to replace the entire inner tube.
- Inject sealant into a tubeless tyre through the valve for puncture protection.
